22nd RALLY INA POREČ

In ideal weather conditions and narrow roads of the western part of the Istrian peninsula, the 22nd Rally Poreč was held from the 1st to 2nd October. The rally was organized by Auto Club Poreč Motorsport and AKORK Skok racing, with the support of the City of Poreč and the sponsor INA Industrija nafte d.d.

Rally Poreč has been organized since 1999, and has become the traditional final of the Croatian Championship and the Slovenian Championship, and as of this year, it is being scored for the first time for the Central European Zone Championship.

With 10 special speed tests, this edition of the rally had as many as 350 km of itinerary driving, of which 88.66 km were only speed tests.

The speedsters drove to Sv. Lovreč 1 and 2 (8,970km), Tar 1 and 2 (9,280km), Vežnaveri 1 and 2 (6,850km), Flengi 1 and 2 (10,510km) and Kanfanar 1 and 2 (8,720km), with Shakedown taking place the Vižinada speed test, which returned to the itinerary after 10 years.

69 crews from six countries applied.

69 crews from six countries were registered, of which 52 crews completed the rally.

This year's Poreč rally was full of excitement. There were overturnings on roofs, short delays, accidents during the stage between the crews, but fortunately all accidents ended without consequences for the drivers and their co-drivers.

The Racetrip team participated in the rally by renting a Peugeot 206 Sport RC N3

The Racetrip team took part in the rally by renting Peugeot 206 Sport RC N3 driven by Eris Marotti with his co-driver Kristian Šain. In the overall rankings, they won the 41st place, while in class N they took an excellent 2nd place.

The first 3 places in the overall rankings were taken by:

  1. Rok Turk and Vili Ošlaj in Hyundai i20

  2. Kristof Klausz and Btond Csanyi in  Škoda Fabia Rally 2 EVO

  3. Ariel Gyarmati and Gyorgy Kocsis in Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX

A real surprise for all drivers was organized by the Croatian Auto and Karting Association and thanks to the city of Poreč and local clubs, on Friday night (1st October) starting at 9 pm, Poreč hosted the proclamation of the rally season of the Croatian Championship for 2020 where the best drivers and co-drivers received their awards at a ceremony in the Poreč Istrian Parliament.
