40th INA Buzet Days 2021

This weekend, all roads take us to the 40th INA BUZET DAYS, where we will definitely enjoy the adrenaline pleasure, beautiful weather and entertainment program again.

The Auto Club "BUZET" from Buzet organizes the International Hill Climb Car Race "40th INA BUZET DAYS 2021 ”. The race will take place from the 17th to 19th September 2021.

In 1981, at a meeting of the presidency and the sports commission of the society led by the president of  Auto Moto Society Buzet, Ivan Prodan and members of the presidency, as well as members of the sports commission Žarko Bauman, Željko Hren and Damir Rupen, a decision was made to enter the race for the official state championship. The first race of the Buzet Days was driven on 5th September, 1982 on the 4209-meter-long trail from Most to Svi Sveti (*All Saints). Along the longest Istrian river Mirna, as many as 105 drivers in four classes of competitors gathered.

The 2017 track record is held by Christian Merli.

An interesting fact is that the track record from 2017 is still held by the Italian Christian Merli with his prototype Osella FA 30, his time record is 2:04:689 with an average of 144,388 km/h, and whether anyone will be able to break the record this year, we will soon find out.

This year, almost 270 drivers from Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, France, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina will compete at the 40th INA Buzet Days.

The hill climb race is scored for:

  • European Hill Climb Car Racing Championship

  • European Hill Climb Car Racing Championship - historic vehicles

  • CEZ Championship on mountain tracks for historic vehicles

  • Championship of the Republic of Croatia on mountain tracks

  • Championship of the Republic of Croatia - hill climb championship of historic cars

  • Open Championship of the Republic of Slovenia and Car School Cup 2005

  • Car School Cup 2005 for historic vehicles

The competition will be conducted according to the current recommendations, guidelines and instructions of the competent authorities of the FIA, HAKS and health care institutions, due to the corona virus epidemic (COVID-19), in order to protect all participants involved in the event.

Track “Most – Peničići”  length 5001 meters

The race itself will take place on Sunday, 19th September, 2021 on the track "Most - Peničići" that is 5001 meters long. It consists of two driving races, the first starting at 9:00 am and the second starting at 1:30 pm.

The important instructions for the AUDIENCE: In order to be able to attend the race, one of the three conditions must be met:

  1. that you have a COVID passport

  2. that you have recovered from COVID within the period  of 6 months

  3. that you have a negative rapid antigen test

A rapid antigen test can be done on the days of the race at the location of the  Crodux petrol station in Buzet, and its price is 50kn (Friday - 11:00 - 18:00, Saturday - 07:00 - 15:00, Sunday  - 07:00 - 15:00).

During training and racing, drivers in the vehicle must use seat belts and safety helmets, as well as a head protection system that must comply with FIA regulations.

Drivers must be dressed in approved fire-resistant long-sleeved overalls (including protective footwear, underwear, cap and gloves), which must comply with applicable FIA standards.

Conditions for competitors and drivers:

  • This competition is open to any natural or legal person who has the appropriate competition license for the current year. A professional driver's license issued by HAKS is valid as international if the driver has at least 5 participations in competitions with a registered car in the last 24 months.

  • Drivers must have a professional driver's license and an international competition license valid for the current year

  • Competitors and drivers from abroad must have a written approval from the national federation (ASN) or on the basis of an appropriate license in order to participate in the race.

  • If the drivers do not have the above approval, it is possible to perform only outside the competition of the international competition, and according to the decision of the Sports Commission at the proposal of the organizers

  • Double start is not allowed (one driver with two vehicles or two drivers with one vehicle)

The award ceremony will also be held on Sunday, 19th September, 2021 at 18:00 on Fontana Square in Buzet.
