40th INA Buzet Days

From the 17th to 19th  September, under the watchful eye of rain and wind, the 40th INA BUZET DAYS were held, where we again did not lack adrenaline pleasure, especially due to all the weather conditions that drivers encountered in the pit stops and during the race.

INA Buzet Days

International mountain car race “40th INA BUZET DAYS 2021” was organized by the Auto Club ''BUZET'' from Buzet.

In 1981, at the meeting of the presidency and the sports commission of the society led by the president of AutoMoto Society  Buzet, Ivan Prodan, and members of the presidency, as well as members of the sports commission Žarko Bauman, Željko Hren and Damir Rupen, a decision was made to enter the race for the official state championship.

The first race of the Buzet Days was performed on the 5th September, 1982 on the 4209-meter-long track  from Most to Svih Svetih. Along the longest Istrian river Mirna, as many as 105 drivers in four classes of competitors gathered.

AS Cup 2005 for historic vehicles

The first race of the Buzet Days was held in 1982. An interesting fact is that the track record from 2017 is still held by the Italian Christian Merli with his prototype Osella FA 30, his time record is 2:04:689 with an average of 144.388 km / h.

Almost 270 drivers from Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, France, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina competed at the 40th INA Buzet Days.

The hill climb race was scored for:

  • European Hill Climb Car Racing Championship

  • European Hill Climb Car Racing Championship - historic vehicles

  • CEZ Championship on hill climb tracks for historic vehicles

  • Championship of the Republic of Croatia on hill climb tracks

  • Championship of the Republic of Croatia - hill climb championship of historic cars

  • Open Championship of the Republic of Slovenia and AS Cup 2005

The competition was conducted according to the current recommendations, guidelines and instructions of the competent authorities of the FIA, HAKS and health care institutions, resulting from the epidemic of corona virus (COVID-19), in order to protect all participants involved in the event.

The race itself was held on Sunday, the 19th September, 2021 on the track "Most - Peničići" and was 5001 meters long. It consisted of two rounds, the first starting at 9:00 am and the second starting at 1:30 pm, with difficult road conditions due to the rain and even neutralization of the track due to excessive water flow over the road. The vast majority of competitors managed to finish the race.

Peugeot Sport 206 RC N3 driven by Eris Marotti

The RaceTrip team participated in the competition with the rent of  Peugeot Sport 206 RC N3 driven by Eris Marotti, who took the 25th place in the overall rankings, and the 8th place in the N class.

The results of the overall ranking for the first three places are:
